Denmark proposes to ban the sale of new cars of gasoline and diesel in 2030 and hybrids in 2035

The Government of Denmark has proposed a law with which it intends to prohibit the sale of new gasoline or diesel combustion engine cars by 2030, and hybrids by 2035.

El plan aún requiere de aprobación parlamentaria para pasar a ser ley, y está previsto que se presente en el parlamento la semana que viene. El gobierno danés ya fué blanco de críticas por incrementar los impuesto de los coches eléctricos en 2016, lo que provocó una caída de las ventas del 3% a practicamente cero.

 ”It is a very ambitious plan that will be difficult to achieve, but that is exactly the reason why we have to try,” Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said Tuesday in parliament.

This initiative is in line with the international efforts that are being made to promote pure electric cars and reduce pollution and climate change.

The United Kingdom and France have already pledged to ban diesel and oil cars in 2040, while the mayors of Paris, Madrid, Mexico City and Athens have already indicated their intention to ban diesel cars in the center of their cities for 2025.
