The International Automobile Federation ensures that autnomous car is not a solution for road security
President of Federation Internationale de l´Automobile (FIA), Jean Todt, believes that autonomous car is not a realistic solution to solve the problems of road security on the entire world.
“I don´t think so. Of course it can be an option but I think we must be realistic, and there are few cities arround the world that can take measures to make the autonomous car a reality on the next ten years”, Todt has pointed to Europa Press.
By the other side, FIA´s president has ensured that there exist cities in Spain which have the facilities for the autonomous car on the next few years. Nevertheless, he has pointed that on the international environment, for example Asian and African countries, they will have troubles implementing this technology on the next 50 years.
By his side, Todt has highlighted the necesity of teaching road security at school. “The same Spanish or French is taught at schools, it should happen with road security”
Moreover, Todt has declared that Spain has done a “very profesional work” in therms of road security, due to road education and infraction laws have increased.
At the same time, he has also ensured that making harder laws is the way to end with reoffending drivers and alcoholic or drug drivers, due to the fear of being punished. Even going to prisión, would be the way that people don´t drive if they have take drugs.
