Sales of used cars grew up a 13,2% in October in relation to the same month of 2016, sales achieve 178.233 units according to MSI consultant data for the Federación de Asociaciones de Concesionarios de la Automoción (Faconauto).
Regarding to the age of the vehicles in October, 56.6% of the sold used cars were more than 10 years old, which means an increase of 14,6% in relation to last year´s October. By the other side, car operations between 0 and 3 years old grew up 52,8% in that month.
The sole age interval which perceive a decrease in their sales was between 6 to 10 years old in the market, in went down 9,4%. On his way, the average age in the market was 11,2 years in October 2017.
By autonomous comunities, Castilla-La Mancha is the one in which second hand sales were higher last month, 80,7% more, up to 13.505 units. In the second place Madrid, with an increase of 23% and 25.772 vehicles and thirdly Cataluña with 20,8% more, up to 30.134 units.
By the other side, only Ceuta and Melilla count a decrease in the monthly sales calculation of used cars of 12,7% and 6,5% respectively, up to 269 units in Ceuta and 360 in Melilla.
So far this year, seles of this kind of vehicles were 1,57 million of units, which means an increase of 12,3% compared with the 10 first months of 2016. According to Faconauto calculations, this year could close with a total volume of 1,9 million of units.
